MEMBERSHIP
(a) Membership shall be open to any person who is not disqualified
or suspended by KUSA and who has never been found guilty of any
act of cruelty to animals.
(b) There shall be six classes of membership, namely:
(i) Honorary Life members who shall be persons nominated by the
unanimous vote of the Committee and subsequently elected at the
next Annual General Meeting of the Club by a two-thirds majority
of members with voting rights and who are present. Those nominated
for this class of membership must be those considered to be worthy
of special recognition for services rendered to the club and/or
to the Bullmastiff breed, or to dog affairs or for outstanding achievement
in connection with dogs. This class of membership shall enjoy full
privileges of membership of the Club, free of entrance fee and subscription
and shall be entitled to vote as ordinary members.
(ii) Life members who shall be members who have paid the relative
entrance fee and subscriptions prescribed in respect of life membership,
provided that if an ordinary or family member decides to become
a life member he shall not be required to pay an entrance fee. Life
members shall be entitled to vote as ordinary members.
(iii) Ordinary members, being members over the age of 18 (eighteen)
years who are not otherwise defined herein. Ordinary members shall
be entitled to vote at all General Meetings of the Club.
(iv) Family members being husband, wife and any children under
the age of 18 (eighteen) years. The husband and wife will be entitled
to a vote each as ordinary members. Children shall not be entitled
to vote.
(v) Junior members being persons not included in a Family membership,
who are attending school, for so long as they are attending school.
Junior members may participate in discussion on any matter before
the Club, but shall not be entitled to vote on any matter.
(vi) Pensioner members being persons who have attained the age
of 65 (sixty-five) years. Pensioner members shall be entitled to
vote as ordinary members.
(c) The liability of each member to and in respect of the obligations
of the Club shall be limited to the amount of the annual subscription
in force from time to time.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
(a) Application for membership shall be made in writing
on the form prescribed from time to time and must be made on the
basis of proposer and seconder, each of the proposer and seconder
being members of good standing with the Club.
(b) Each new application for membership shall be accompanied by
a signed acceptance of the Code of Ethics of the Club, signifying
an undertaking to abide by this Code.
(c) Each application for membership shall be considered by the
Committee at it’s first meeting subsequent to receipt of the
application and until acceptance by the Committee has been conveyed
to the applicant in writing, together with a membership card bearing
his member number, he shall have no membership rights.
(d) The Committee shall have complete and absolute discretion to
accept, refuse or defer any application.
